What is a meal plan, exactly?
A meal plan from Cook up a Plan contains recipes, a shopping list, and a plan of attack for dinner time. With each recipe, I highlight elements that can be prepared ahead (daily or weekly), ingredients to leave out or include for the varying preferences in the family, suggestions for store-bought/frozen/pre-made shortcuts, and ideas for how to make it tastier and even more fun for kids.

What if I hate cooking?
If you hate cooking, but you still need to do it, I hear you! I can create a plan for you that requires little to no ACTUAL cooking. I am no stranger to all the great dinner short-cuts that are available at local SOMa / MapSO stores! We work together to find what works for you.

How often do I have to shop and cook?
This is all up to you and your preferences. The meal plan is fully customized to your needs. If you grocery shop, (or order groceries) weekly, I will tailor your plan to your personal shopping habits. If you’re looking to only cook two to three times per week, or want to batch cook on the weekends for the whole week, I can help with that too.

What if my kids won't eat A SINGLE THING I make?
Unfortunately, I can’t control what your kids will or won’t eat. And neither can you! So let’s start by giving yourself a break. I also can’t guarantee they will enjoy every recipe I provide. However, I can create a meal plan that comes as close to what they might like as possible. I like to include kid-friendly recipes that allow them to participate at the table or in the kitchen. Getting kids involved in creating their meal increases the likelihood that they’ll try it. It may take some experimentation, and of course, patience.

When can I start receiving my meal plan?
Cook up a Plan operates on a rolling basis. Start and stop whenever you want. You can choose to do a single month at a time, or a three month package. If you prefer, you can receive a whole month’s plan at once. We’ll discuss your personal schedule when we connect by phone or video call.
